Great Reading This is the first book that I read by this author. I really enjoyed how the author took you through the story of Emerald. There are more Emeralds in the world than we think. Reviewer: Roy M What an unforgettable Summer Emerald was a person who struggled all of her life because of the color of her skin. I could imagine the hardship she had to endure her whole life. For me, this book was deep... Reviewer: Patricia W

Great Read This was such a great read. I read the entire book in 1 day and felt like I was saying goodbye to an old friend when I closed the book. The author is to be commended on her development of the characters and the scenes. If you haven't picked up a copy, do yourself a favor and get it, you will not be disappointed. Reviewer: Rena F

A Rare Treat This was such a unique story that I truly enjoyed. It's an eye opener for me as to some of the experiences some light skinned black women could have experienced in the 50's and 60's. Once I got the middle of the story I could not put it this book down. I felt as though I was traveling place to place with Emerald. This book is a rare treat. Sit, relax and enjoy this ride. Reviewer: Rhonda C

Better than expected I am usually a little hesitant about reading authors I have never heard of. After reading the reviews on the website I decided to pick it up. This book was alot better than I expected. I read it in 1 day. I will definitely read the next book this author writes. A must read for all those who love a great book that will leave you speechless. Reviewer: Terese B

Very Good Read this book was a reeality check. The perspective was wonderful from a black woman who looked white. I was amazed of the different lives she lived and adapted, but the ending, I think made it all worth it for Emerald. A touching story. Reviewer: Tonya M

Great Read... This book was great. I can really relate to this book as my family history is similar with the gene trait. I look alot like Emerald, as my mother and hers. It really opens your eyes to whats out there. You never know! I could not put this book down. The author used such detail to make you feel like you were there. Also reminds us, of the prejudice our grandfolks may have had to endure! Reviewer: Pamela L

Great Book I loved reading this book. I could not put the book down. I felt a part of the story. Reviewer: Nicole J So Good I loved it, and couldn't put it down. It reminded me of the movie Queen. Reviewer: Clevon B

Wonderful! I'm somewhat speechless. This story took us through race, sexuality, love, friendship, trust, joy and pain. It made me think of what my great-great grandparents, might have gone through, being an interracial couple. But obviously they made it work; I'm living proof of that. Enough about me! I could almost feel Emerald's pain and frustration, and ultimately her joy in finally having closure. Well worth my time! Reviewer: Yutasha J
