What's New

My first eBook

ebook

Yes, it's true. If you look up work by Michelle McGriff, you'll notice electronic books on the market. But this book is my first 'self-published' eBook.

For Love's Sake was a very engrossing story about a family taken from the top of their game to the pit tragic dispair. They have a very short time to pull up from it. Although it may seem like a story on a downer it's not. It's a heroic journey that readers can share. They will learn to love the characters, grow with the characters, cry, laugh and relate to them.

The book is available on Smashwords, Amazon, BN.com and more.

The cover art was a photograph taken by my daughter Qiara Ryans. She doesn't even realize how good she is at what she does. I used her picture with hopes that eventually some would want to contact her to take pictures for their work. I think she is FULL of potential.

As a writer, I have found that since embarking on this career nearly 15 years ago, in the literary industry over the last few years, there has been many more downs than ups. I finally had to pull back. I was falling apart - emotionally and spiritually. Even my muse left and decided she would not return until I did right by her.

In order to make it al right - for me - I had to do something big. I can't go into all that right now but you all may notice over the next few months, my books will be harder to find for a while. I have to sort through some of the ugly stuff being published by an unethical publisher has caused. I have to get over the pain and damage that being literally (bookwise) abused has caused.

At the end of a career one would hope there'd be good memories but in my case...no... my writer's heart has been broken. By publishing eBooks at the encouragement of readers and colleagues, I hope me and my muse can mend.

With that said, You'd be crazy not to have more than one stream of income. In my case I have to, for now, view my writing as a secondary income - a hobby. That is why I do Mary Kay, Pure Romance, Sunrider Herbs, Shaklee, Ardyss, Lace Front Wigs, Sewing, Respite Child Care, eBooks, Parklane Jewelry, and more. Now, for some of my colleagues, they managed to keep their writing first, They found safe homes for their work as well as their muses. For others they simply added fun creative extras to their income stream. Here is a short list of some who write as well as give to the writer's life by offering services that help authors grow.

Michelle McGriff - PhD

Introduction

Hi, my name is Michelle McGriff. I'm known as Dr. MeChee by many of my associates. Some of you may remember me as The Wet August Company, Wet August Books, National Best Selling Author, The Vegan Writer, etc...

But for now, I'm just Michelle McGriff. I'm no longer a best selling author of fiction books, a vegan writer or living where August is wet. I'm back home, living in my native state of California in my comfort zone of home - the San Fransisco Bay Area.

I hold a PhD in Business and Technology from Capella University, where I also studied to become an online instructor. I'm working on completing my needed requirements to teach in California on all levels by spring 2012. Additionally, I'm an administrative assistant whenever I can find work, and a full time student - currently pursuing a second doctorate in Industrial / Organizational Psychology. I'm studying to be a professional's personal and career coach and, or, corporate trainer, as well as Psych instructor at a Jr. college level.

Fiction writing has had to take a back seat to the economy although the passion I have for writing is still pretty front page with me. I've had to move into more academic writing but still I love a good story and plan to publish ebooks as an outlet. Of course I share that passion with other hobbies like Mary Kay, Pure Romance, Sunrider Herbs, Shaklee, Ardyss, Lace Front Wigs, Sewing, Respite Child Care, eBooks, Parklane Jewelry, and more. Each of my hobbies earn me a little fun money on the side.

I love dancing, vegetarian cooking, shopping, movies, computer time, hanging out with family, friends and exploring my life as a vibrant woman over 50.

Depression is a dark place to spend time and I try not to visit there often. If I find myself there I tend to write my way through. So on this website I plan to fill it with exciting and upbeat information that I hope is helpful and entertaining. This site is here for friends and family alike. Although it's not here to 'make money' I do hope that you purchase my Iuniverse books, Mary Kay, Pure Romance, Sunrider Herbs, Shaklee, Ardyss, Lace Front Wigs, Sewing, Respite Child Care, eBooks, Parklane Jewelry, and any other venture I find myself involved in - thus I've listed links wherever I can. I love 'getting into' side businesses and seeing them grow.

You'll notice the site page is split between interesting topics. I have tried not to JUMP around too much but I'm into all sorts of wonderful things! Its what I get for being creative! Just follow along and read what interest you. That should make it easy... right?

To keep brushes clean: Good quality shampoo.  Squeeze out excess water and dry bristles down or turned on the side with good air circulation.
Brush tips are important.  Any pointed brush is used on the point, not the side.  Any flat brush is used flat.

"Just because you are my soulmate does not give you the license to suck the soul out of me."

Inspirational Photo of the Day

But then again, hate if the fear of something misunderstood... so much more so for rejection. To me rejection is the precursor of hate. You don't like it, you want nothing to do with it, and therefore you reject it.

Yes, many of us hate the word HATE. We want nothing to do with it or be associated with it... unless of course it's a popularly 'HATED' thing. Okay with that said, popularity can be a sticky wicked poised precariously on a slippery slope.

In our younger years we liked and disliked (loved and hated) things our friends loved and hated. Some even dared not go against the norm or fast the wrath of the god of popularity. To do this meant social death for sure, or social coolness.

It wasn't too many more years we grew bored with this and begain to reject (hate) all that everyone loved. This made those who rebelled aloof and the coolest set of people around. Yet, unpopular with the poplarity gods.

As years continue, I happen to think the social gods have become quite fickle. Choosing what is popular... for the month, day, week, year. (to be continuted)
