Author Michelle McGriff gives readers an upclose and personal look at her weight loss struggle. Her goal is to reduce the risk for diabetes which run rampant in her family as well as hypertension and other silent killers.Resources March Madness.... We are all really moving and shaking right now. I feel it in the air. I think the effects of lasts year's hit are almost worn off and everyone seems to be adjusting to their new roles and positions in this life and times. As anyone who reads the bible knows we are in "the last days, critical times hard to deal with will be here" (2Tim 3: 1-7) I always include verses 6, 7, so that I can get a clearer understanding of why relationships continue to be rocky among women who claim Christianity yet, continue to sleep with men and allow them to take over their brains and abuse them. REALITY BITE: Okay so I'm on the quest for the final 10 right now. I've kinda evened out and even upped my carbs by just a touch. I've lost the 10 pounds I had gained over the last 45 days due to eating everywhichadamnthing, but reality hit me: I had grown tired with veganism. I was starting to feel bored and discontent in my food choices. I realized then that I had stopped cooking. Cooking is the key to weight loss. It just is. Still got my Wii plugged in and I have to get on that thing at least once a week. I would love to promise at least 2wice with a good long walk in between but so far it's ain't hap'nin. But planning, aiming, trying and shooting for, are the best action words out there for those on a weight loss mission. The minute you STOP doing those things you're loss. Don't give up on yourself even if you gain that pound or three back. It's just a matter of investing 7 days to fixing it. Get right back on track. Don't wallow. It will get you no where out outta your clothes again. Speaking of clothes. No I haven't bought anythign new. It's not a matter of fear so much as economy. I have all the clothes I could want in this lifetime (not really but I have to tell myself that) I need nothing new. Unfortunately, some of the big stuff still has tags. BUT, no worries, that's what BIGGO diaper pens are for. Never used one, get a friend, a hubby or somebody who has. They work wonders if you are not a seamstress or just want a quick fix. Runway and photo models use them all the time. They will be your best and cheapest woredrobe investment ever. Being proactive has worked wonders on my life and being fifty has been as wonderful as I have imagined it would be. I feel confident and alive, even more than when I was twenty. I no longer feel stupid and vulnerable. I feel like I say 'get the hell away from me' if I'm tired of someone's presence or not answer my phone if I don't feel like talking. There has been on real drama or life changing events and so that means in order to have change (positive change) I have to make it happen. Cooking is back and so are the pictures so click here for a couple of recipes that will appear in the book: Eating Right For The Vegan Who Writes © Michelle McGriff, 2009.
